Are you an Irish Food Entrepreneur ……. or would you like to be one? Could you create and run a successful food export business.

Do you have the creativity, enthusiasm and drive to bring a new food product to the worldwide market? If so, “Food Works ” definitely want to hear from you.

Bord Bia, Enterprise Ireland and Teagasc are working together to find and foster a new group of entrepreneurs. They have pooled their resources to make sure they can support you and your vision in the most efficient way possible.

Your big idea might make you a serious player in the next generation of the Irish food sector. So, if you have a concept for a food product that fills a new or previously unknown consumer need, this opportunity might just be for you.

How can Food Works help you?

Lend practical support

They will help you to validate your idea. You will have access and immersion in all Bord Bia consumer research. You will undertake an inspiration expedition and a visit to an overseas market in the process of developing and sense checking your idea.

You will have one to one mentoring from a Bord Bia consumer insight expert who will bring you through a recognised consumer validation process including consumer clinics both nationally and internationally.

Test the concept

They also provide you with the support to think through — and test — your idea by providing access to incubation units, research and development (R&D) expertise, pilot scale production and possible investors.

Examine the financing

Ideas can’t thrive without putting money behind them and sometimes investors think early-stage food businesses are risky propositions. Together, they will reduce their doubts by developing your idea into a tried and tested, financially viable business concept.

Who are they looking for?

You’ll be a determined, energetic and well-accomplished individual. You may have worked at a senior level in the food business or shown your entrepreneurial flair in another sector. You can apply on your own, as part of a team or as a company (if you’ve been incorporated for less than two years)
